It is with much sadness that we share the news of Rod Hofstedt’s recent passing. Rod, most recently the Executive Director of Adults & Childrens Alliance, was a true champion for child care providers in Minnesota. He was among the first to actively believe in the importance of the business of licensed family child care, insisting on support and recognition for the dedicated people who cared for children. He was also active on several national boards and committees, testified about CACFP concerns, and frequently advised
members of congress.
Rod was resolute about providers having access to critical information and support. ACA’s first ventures into conference organization was a joint sponsorship with PLA-INC. for its first conference in Forest Lake in 2002 as well as the National Leadership Summit in Minneapolis in 2004. Rod's understanding of and commitment to our mission contributed significantly to the initial growth of PLA-INC. His caring nature, dry wit and humor, attention to detail, intelligence, ethics, and commitment to child care professionals as well as his friendship and support are sorely missed.
Thanks for everything, Rod. We’ll miss you.

It is with sadness that we share with you the news of Roxanne (Roxy) Chuchna's death on November 1, 2008, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Roxy was owner and CEO of Roxy's Food and Crafts, serving family child
care providers throughout Minnesota. A long-time mentor for women in business
and strong advocate for children, she passed her business to other family
members in early 2008; she continued to
serve as a consultant.
We thank Roxy for her support of families and children as well as for those who served them. We extend our thoughts and prayers for Roxy and to her family as they share their memories of "Mud", mom,
grandma and "Nanny."
